Ralph Lauren Polo was the first perfume for men by the Ralph Lauren brand in 1978. Polo is a truly masculine fragrance and therefore contains no flowers with the exception of chamomile. The fragrance opens green and fresh with notes of basil, thyme, cumin, coriander and clove. The heart notes consist of patchouli, oakmoss and vetiver. The base contains leather, tobacco and thyme. Ralph Lauren Polo was composed by Carlos Benaim in 1978. Ralph Lauren was the winner of a FIFI award with Polo in 1979.
