In 1921, Chanel launched a fragrance line that would make history. It was the fifth eau de toilette presented to her by perfumer Ernest Beaux, hence the name: No.5. Years later, Jacques Polge composed the eau de parfum version. The composition is just as complex, but there are different.
This eau de parfum version opens with bergamot, peach, ylang-ylang, neroli and aldehydes. The floral middle consists of iris, lily of the valley, rose and jasmine. In the warm base, woody notes of vetiver oakmoss, patchouli and sandalwood come together with vanilla.
