Yves Saint Laurent Opium was first launched in 1977 by the fashion house of Yves Saint Laurent. In 2009, the fragrance was relaunched in a new bottle designed by Yves Saint Laurent's art director Fabien Baron in collaboration with Stefano Pilati. Opium is known as a sophisticated, oriental, spicy fragrance. This feminine fragrance possesses top notes of mandarin, bergamot and lily of the valley. The heart consists of notes of carnation, jasmine and myrrh and is followed by a base of patchouli, amber and vanilla.
